3.7 /5 Overall score
average of 5 criteria
  • Spec strength3.5

    1250 A and 31 Wh with real 60 W USB-C PD — a step up from the GB40's 1000 A / 24 Wh, still well under HULKMAN's 2000 A / 74 Wh.

  • Build quality4.5

IP65 and 2.16 lb — lighter than the GB40 (2.45 lb) with more output.

  • Fit & compatibility4.0

6.5 L gas / 4.0 L diesel adds small diesels the GB40 (3.0 L) cannot cover; big diesel pickups still need the GBX155.

  • Warranty & support3.0

1 year, same as the GB40, vs 24 months on HULKMAN.

  • Value3.5

    $124.95, $25 over the GB40 for 25% more amps and 60 W USB-C; the HULKMAN Alpha85 lists at $199.99 for 2000 A.

Score is calculated from the manufacturer's published specifications. BaniCar has not handled this unit. Specs and availability change — verify on the listing.

Safety note: Jump starters deal with high current. Follow the manufacturer's clamp order and engine-size limits; check the manual before use.

Verdict

The NOCO to buy if you want USB-C fast charging and a bit more headroom than the GB40 without jumping to the heavy GBX155. Still a 1-year warranty.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • 60 W USB-C Power Delivery charges the unit in under an hour and doubles as a laptop power bank
  • NOCO says 5 minutes of charge is enough for one jump
  • Lighter than the GB40 at 2.16 lb
  • IP65 with spark-proof, reverse-polarity-protected clamps

Cons

  • No 60 W USB-C charger in the box; a slow charger takes far longer
  • 1-year warranty
  • 31 Wh is still a small pack next to 74–99 Wh rivals
  • Diesel coverage stops at 4.0 L

Best for

  • Drivers who want one device for jump starts and USB-C laptop charging
  • Small-diesel and V8 gas owners

Frequently asked questions

How fast does the GBX45 recharge?

NOCO lists about 0.8 hours on a compatible 60 W USB-C Power Delivery charger. The charger is sold separately; a phone charger will take much longer.

Can I jump a frozen or damaged battery with it?

No. NOCO's user guide warns: do not attempt to jump start a damaged or frozen battery, and use only on 12 V lead-acid batteries.

Is 1250 A enough for a V8?

NOCO rates it for gas engines up to 6.5 L, which covers most V8 trucks and SUVs. For diesels over 4.0 L, NOCO points to larger Boost X models.
