4.1 /5 Overall score
average of 5 criteria
  • Spec strength4.0

15 LEDs, 9 modes, IP67 and a stated visibility distance are more published numbers than the Ecoangel offers; it gives up the Ecoangel's rechargeable cell and magnet.

  • Build quality4.0

IP67 ABS body that floats and the maker calls crush-proof; the only flare here with a water rating.

  • Fit & compatibility4.5

Works on any vehicle with no charging; replaceable batteries mean a disc that sat for two years still lights up with fresh cells.

  • Warranty & support4.5

Lifetime warranty stated by a US-based seller — the strongest coverage in the category, though there is no brand website to read the terms.

  • Value3.5

No list price to score; the kit adds a whistle, cutter and spare batteries, but you will keep buying batteries where the Ecoangel recharges.

Score is calculated from the manufacturer's published specifications. BaniCar has not handled this unit. Specs and availability change — verify on the listing.

Safety note: Warning-light placement rules vary by state and for commercial vehicles. Check local law.

Verdict

The flare set to leave in the trunk and forget: sealed to IP67, batteries already installed, and a lifetime warranty on the listing. Buyers who hate buying batteries, or who want a magnet, should look at the Ecoangel.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of batteries do they take?

MARCALA says 3 batteries per flare come installed and includes spares, but doesn't name the size on the listing. Check the back of a disc before stocking up — most discs this size use AAA cells.

Are these really DOT compliant?

The manufacturer says so but cites no standard or test. FMVSS 125 covers non-powered warning triangles, not LED discs, so there is no federal approval mark to look for. If you need compliant devices for a commercial vehicle, carry triangles like the CARTMAN set.

Do they stick to the car?

No magnet is listed. They're meant to sit on the pavement or a flat surface; the Ecoangel discs include a magnet and hook.
