3.8 /5 Overall score
average of 5 criteria
  • Spec strength5.0

The only bidirectional, all-system tool here: engine/ABS/SRS/transmission plus resets, vs enhanced-codes-only on BlueDriver and engine-only on Foxwell and Ancel.

  • Build quality4.0

Shop-style handheld with the same internals as Innova's 5610; Innova publishes no screen size, weight or drop rating.

  • Fit & compatibility3.5

Broad U.S./Canada coverage, but FCA vehicles after 2017 lose erase/reset functions (AutoAuth) and it will not work outside North America.

  • Warranty & support3.5

1-year warranty and 30-day returns; free lifetime-style updates offset the short term, but OBDLink gives 3 years.

  • Value3.0

$349.99 is 2.5x the BlueDriver or OBDLink; worth it only if you will use bidirectional tests and service resets.

Score is calculated from the manufacturer's published specifications. BaniCar has not handled this unit. Specs and availability change — verify on the listing.

Verdict

For serious DIYers and small shops that want bidirectional tests, ABS bleeding and service resets without a subscription. Skip it if you only need codes and live data — the $140 options do that.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the 5160RS and the Innova 5610?

Innova says the 5160RS has the same feature set and internal hardware as the 5610; the 5160RS is Innova's retail-channel name (sold standalone on Amazon, while the 5610 appears there mainly in bundles).

Does it work on a 2022 Ram 1500 or Jeep Wrangler?

Only partly. Innova states full FCA diagnostics for 2017 and earlier; newer Jeep/Chrysler/Ram models get limited functions and cannot erase codes or reset oil life without AutoAuth.

Can it bleed ABS brakes or reset a battery after replacement?

Yes — Innova lists ABS functions, battery reset, EPB, SAS and TPMS relearns among its dealership-level services, subject to vehicle coverage.
